I can say that I am a seasoned litigator and dispute resolution specialist. What I prefer to say is that my primary interest is to solve the problems that get in the way of the clients who have retained me to act for them. My clients receive, at their disposal, my wide range of skills and experience to ensure that they get the best available legal advice and representation.
I can also say that clients and colleagues regularly call upon me to provide strategic and outcome focused advice to resolve a broad range of disputes. What I prefer to say is that I continue to assist individuals and businesses in guiding them through the claims process to resolution. I have built an enviable reputation on the back of taking responsibility for obtaining excellent results in some of New Zealand's leading court judgments and negotiated settlements. I got to this point after working in New York in the mid-1990s, a few short years at one of New Zealand's top litigation law firms, a decade at the New South Wales bar and over 23 years at the independent bar in New Zealand. During the past two and half decades, I have been counsel in over 150 witness hearings (Judge alone and jury), numerous appeal hearings, including in the Supreme Court of New Zealand, and over 1,000 third-party facilitated settlements.
